The MacArthur Foundation’s Behavioural Change Cohort is set to host the Behavioural Change Conference and Exhibition 2023 in Abuja, focusing on the theme “Fostering a Corruption-Free Nigeria.” The event, scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, at the D-Serene Exclusive Hotel, Abuja, aims to unite experts, thought leaders, and stakeholders from various sectors to address corruption in Nigeria and promote sustainable development.

Key guests and speakers include Oliver Stolpe (Country Director, UN Office on Drugs and Crime), Kole Shettima (On-Nigeria Director, MacArthur Foundation), Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye (outgoing ICPC Chairman), international donors, development partners, and CSOs.

Dr. Kole Shettima expressed excitement about the conference, stating the MacArthur Foundation’s commitment to employing behavioural insights for change in anti-corruption initiatives within Nigeria. The event will provide a platform for collaboration and idea-sharing among grant cohorts and partners.

The founder of the Akin Fadeyi Foundation and an organising committee member, Akin Fadeyi, highlighted the BC Cohort’s efforts to advance anti-corruption objectives through measurable outcomes. The event will serve as an exhibition to showcase achievements and garner appraisals from stakeholders.

Provost of the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, Prof. Olatunde Babawale, emphasised the conference’s significance in rebuilding Nigeria’s integrity, aligning with the National Ethics and Integrity Policy (NEIP).

Attendees at the BC Conference 2023 can engage in discussions, network, and share best practices, with the ultimate goal of contributing to a corruption-free society. Renowned speakers will provide insights into the role of behavioural change in anti-corruption interventions, utilising both conventional and non-conventional strategies.

Idajor Maurice Ajah is the Programme Manager for AkweyaTV Limited. He also deploys himself into active media activities including newscasting, event reporting, and interview shows. He holds B.Sc.
